Food in Andalusia – A Taste of Passion

They say the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach – and we couldn’t agree more. Here, a meal is never just food. It might be a lazy lunch by the pool, a cozy dinner with stories and wine, or simply a relaxed evening under fairy lights. No menus, no frills – just good food, great flavours, and a little magic. Not à la carte – à la corazón. We’re food lovers through and through, and believe holidays are the perfect excuse to indulge. So we offer a lovingly served breakfast, light lunches twice a week, and the occasional evening feast with Andalusian flavours and local wines. Because here, food is life – and best enjoyed together.

Our Breakfast – everything to kickstart your day

From 9:00 to 10:30, the day begins with the smell of fresh coffee, crusty bread, and sizzling bacon.

The morning sun peeks over the mountains and spills its first warm rays onto the terrace. Our breakfast brings a taste of Andalusia straight to your table – slow and easy, just as it should be.

There’s fresh bread and rolls, butter, homemade jams, a selection of cheese and charcuterie, and everything you need for a proper tostada andaluza – olive oil, salt, and freshly grated tomato. Coffee or tea and freshly squeezed orange juice go without saying.
Each day, we add something sweet, a yoghurt treat, or seasonal fruit from nearby. No buffet, no queues, no stress – just sit back and enjoy.

And then comes the only real decision of the morning:
Fancy an egg – scrambled, fried or boiled? With or without bacon?

Poolside Lunch – for those who take relaxing seriously

Some days are made for doing nothing: a quiet splash in the pool, a good book in the shade, and maybe – if enough of you feel like staying in – a light Andalusian lunch to match the mood.

When the vibe is right and there’s enough interest, we’re happy to whip something up: refreshing cold soups, fresh salads with sun-ripened local produce, or a little tapa selection with crisp tostadas and olive oil. Simple, local, and just what you need when you’re too chilled to move.

If you’re thinking of making it a lazy pool day, just let us check the possibilities after breakfast.

Dinner Nights – if the mood is right

Some evenings just call for good food, great wine, and even better company. And when enough of you feel like gathering round the table, we’re all in.

Our Andalusian dinner nights aren’t about rigid plans – they’re about going with the flow. If there’s a buzz in the air and hungry guests around, we roll up our sleeves and create a laid-back feast to match the mood. Think:

  • a tapas-style tasting with local delicacies and a few stories to go with them
a night dedicated to Ibérico pork – the good stuff, the real stuff – paired with all the trimmings
  • a seafood grill, fresh off the plancha
  • a four-course Andalusian menu (on a cooler evening) – honest, surprising, and just like dining at a Spanish friend’s home

No two evenings are ever quite the same – it depends on the season, what’s fresh at the market, and what everyone’s in the mood for.

Tempted? Just check the weekly schedule when you arrive – and if there’s enough appetite (usually six guests or more), we’ll make it happen.

"Platos para compartir" – Wednesday is sharing night

Spanish evenings are best when shared – and our “plato para compartir” is just the thing for it. A generous board for two, packed with Andalusian classics and perfect for a laid-back start to your holiday… or simply for a relaxed evening without too much fuss.

On your arrival day, you can book the platter in advance – and if one table fancies it, we often open it up to everyone else as well. That way, it turns into a spontaneous little sharing night. No need for fixed days – just good food, good timing, and a bit of appetite.

What’s on the board? An indulgent mix of local cheeses, hand-cut cured meats, Almería’s famous tomato salad, crusty bread with golden olive oil, plus olives & almonds to nibble on.

We’ll serve it between 7:00 and 8:30 PM – usually on arrival days, if one of the new guests has pre-booked it. That means: if you’d like to enjoy a sharing platter on your first evening, just let us know when you book – and we’ll make it happen.

And when it’s happening, we’ll always check with our other guests to see if they’d like to join in. But just to keep things relaxed for everyone: this only applies on nights when it’s already being served – we won’t be offering it every evening on demand.

Friday evening: Wine tasting & stories in a glass

Wine or sherry · Nibbles · Laid-back holiday vibes

In autumn and spring we start the weekend right with a laid-back evening of Spanish wines – sometimes it’s all about sherry, other times it’s a selection of our top picks. Always Spanish, always delicious, and always served with tasty little bites just like the locals enjoy them. Whether it’s a crisp white from the area, a bold red from the nearby Sierras, or a nutty Amontillado – each week, we surprise you with a new selection.

Come summer, it’s more about light, refreshing cocktails — the perfect apéritif to kick off your evening before dinner.

Good to know

To ensure everything runs smoothly, we kindly ask you to register in advance for all culinary offerings.
For our evening events we require at least six participants.
In case we don’t pick up the cooking spoon—don’t worry: we know the best restaurants in the area and will happily reserve you a nice table.
Since we only offer a set evening menu, special requests (allergies, intolerances, diets) are unfortunately only possible to a limited extent.
Bringing your own food and drinks to the B&B is not allowed. If you’d prefer to cook for yourself and live at your own pace, we therefore recommend a stay in our Beach Apartments in Mojácar Playa.
